What's in a settings file

A settings file holds every setting on the Amazon Merch, Printify, Printful, Redbubble and TeePublic pages, including:

  • the chosen store and saved product list for Printify and for Printful;
  • your Redbubble template link;
  • prices, colours, upload choices and spreadsheet column letters;
  • Printful's EU company name, email and address.

The file is saved in a form you can't read or edit as plain text. It contains your business details, so keep it somewhere private.

When you load a file that uses spreadsheet columns past column H, the column choices on the marketplace pages show them.

What isn't in a settings file

  • Your Amazon email and password. They're stored separately on this computer, left out of every save and ignored when you load a file.
  • Your Printify and Printful tokens. They're stored separately on this computer.
  • Your MyDesigns token.
  • Your marketplace sign-ins in the upload browser.
  • Your Merch Titans login.
  • The Where you sell switches on Home.
  • Your Easy Mode work: designs, custom AI instructions and AI field choices. These stay in Easy Mode on this computer.

So after you load a file on a new computer, sign in to each marketplace when asked, reconnect Printify, Printful and MyDesigns, and turn your marketplaces on under Where you sell. The first upload on that computer activates it on your subscription. See License and computers.

Messages

MessageWhat it means

"Settings successfully loaded!"Your settings were restored from the file.
"Settings is either invalid or corrupted!"Merch Titans couldn't read the file. Choose a .mtasettings file made with Save.

When Merch Titans saves settings by itself

Separate from your backup files, Merch Titans keeps its own copy of your settings, loads it when it starts, and keeps a spare copy it uses if the main one can't be read. It writes that copy:

  • when you press Start upload on the upload screen;
  • when you change a setting on the Printify, Printful, Redbubble or TeePublic page. Each of these saves writes every marketplace's current settings, Amazon Merch included.

It doesn't write it when you close the window, or when you change something on the Amazon Merch page.

If some of the app's pages didn't load when it started, Merch Titans doesn't save settings for that session and shows "Some pages didn't load, so your settings won't be saved this time. Please check your connection and restart the app." Check your connection and restart before you change settings.

What Log Out clears

Log Out at the bottom of the sidebar signs you out of Merch Titans and clears your saved Merch Titans login, your MyDesigns token, your Amazon sign-in and every marketplace sign-in in the upload browser. It doesn't remove your Printify and Printful tokens. They stay connected on this computer. See Sign in.

Questions

Does the settings file include my Amazon password?

No. Your Amazon email and password are stored separately on your computer. They're left out of every settings file and ignored when you load one.

How do I move my settings to a new computer?

Click Save under Settings backup on the old computer, copy the .mtasettings file across, and click Load on the new one. Then sign in to your marketplaces, reconnect Printify, Printful and MyDesigns, and turn your marketplaces on under Where you sell.

Does Merch Titans save my settings automatically?

Yes, when you start an upload and when you change a setting on the Printify, Printful, Redbubble or TeePublic page. It doesn't save when you close the window, and changes on the Amazon Merch page wait for one of those moments.

Are my Easy Mode designs in the settings file?

No. Easy Mode designs, custom AI instructions and AI field choices stay in Easy Mode on that computer. They aren't in the settings file.

What does the invalid or corrupted message mean?

Merch Titans couldn't read the file you chose. Pick a .mtasettings file made with Save under Settings backup and try again.
